About Reginald
Reginald Northecide is a Senior Reliability Analyst in ASI’s Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Division with nearly 20 years of experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). He currently serves as an instructor for Pierian Academy, teaching the Fundamentals of RCM for Practitioners and RCM Commercial courses, where he combines practical field experience with proven RCM methodologies to help students build a strong foundation in reliability engineering.
Reginald began his career serving five years in the United States Marine Corps as a 6114 Helicopter Mechanic, where he developed a strong understanding of aircraft maintenance and reliability principles. Following his military service, he transitioned into Reliability Centered Maintenance and has supported numerous military and commercial programs. His experience includes performing RCM analyses on the CH-53, EA-6B, and H-1 helicopter platforms, as well as commercial marine applications, including tugboats.
For approximately five years, Reginald has served as an instructor, building on years of mentoring and developing junior analysts throughout his career. He believes that teaching is one of the best ways to continually improve one’s own knowledge and technical expertise. Sharing practical experience while helping others develop confidence in applying RCM principles has become one of the most rewarding aspects of his career.
What continues to motivate Reginald as an instructor is the opportunity to meet new professionals, revisit the core principles of RCM that can sometimes be overshadowed by day-to-day project demands, and help students bridge the gap between classroom concepts and real-world application. He enjoys seeing students gain confidence as they begin applying reliability principles to solve maintenance and operational challenges.
Throughout his career, Reginald has progressed to the role of Senior Reliability Analyst Level IV and has received recognition for his contributions to multiple RCM programs. One of his greatest professional accomplishments has been mentoring and training new analysts who have gone on to become highly valued contributors across ASI projects.
His advice to engineers and logisticians entering the reliability field is simple: stay curious and never stop learning. Reliability engineering is a broad discipline that requires patience, continuous learning, and an appreciation for the critical role maintenance and logistics play in ensuring safety, readiness, and mission success.
