About Adam

Adam Mills is the Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Department Head, leading and performing technical work on multiple R&M initiatives. He currently supports the Army’s Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program, developed by Bell Textron, applying advanced reliability methods to this cutting-edge rotary-wing aircraft.

Previously, Adam was a NAVSEA Classical RCM Analyst, conducting Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) on various surface ship systems, including the USS Zumwalt, USACE Dredge McFarland, USS Gerald Ford, and R/V Sikuliaq. His expertise spans FMECA, Maintenance Analysis, and RCM. He has supported and led multiple NAVAIR R&M projects across platforms such as the E-6, F-18 EFG, H-60, H-1, C-130, MQ-4C, and F-5. Adam’s analytical skill set includes Life-Data (Weibull) Analysis, Degrader Analysis, Reliability Growth, Reliability Block Modeling, Monte Carlo simulations, and Maintenance Task Analysis. He has also performed RCM and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) on critical equipment in Army Clinics and Hospitals, including installing vibration monitoring systems, and developed Lock-out Tag-out procedures for power generation and distribution at a major data center.

Adam earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, graduating Cum Laude from the University of Florida in 2009, and recently completed his MBA at the same university in 2023. He is a Certified Reliability Engineer (2014), ISO Category III Vibration Analyst (2016), ASNT Thermography Analyst (2017), NAVAIR Level III RCM Analyst (2014), and has served as a NAVAIR instructor since 2015. He has developed multiple NAVAIR RCM course modules and continues to contribute to workforce development.

As an instructor, Adam has taught numerous NAVAIR RCM courses at all levels, Fundamentals, Intermediate, and Advanced, and serves as an instructor for Pierian Academy’s Practical Application of Weibull Analysis in Engineering course. He is currently developing a Reliability Block Modeling course. Additionally, he conducted familiarization training for the Joint High-Speed Vessel Program (USNS Spearhead), training the first two ship crews on Electrical Generation and Distribution and Integrated Monitoring and Control Systems.
